Shatterproof's Dallas Walk Emcee
Scoop Jefferson
Scoop Jefferson is a General Assignment Reporter who covers the Fort Worth and Tarrant County area for WFAA TV in Dallas, Texas. He is an award-winning journalist born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. He grew up watching the late Ed Bradley anchor the national evening news.
During his last semester at Wright State University, a professor gave him the nickname "Scoop" because he was the first student to land a broadcast television job. He anchored the overnight news updates on WHIO-TV in Dayton. The name "Scoop" also became his AKA when he joined Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
He never knew his TV news career would take him all over the United States. He has worked in Dayton; Macon, GA; Greenville-Spartanburg, SC; Jackson, MS; Portland, OR and Indianapolis, IN, before landing in North Texas in September of 2021.
He loves to be physically active, and you can usually find him in the gym working out several days a week. He enjoys motorcycles and connecting with other riders when it's nice and sunny. His other interests include roller skating, playing pool, and going to the gun range.
Since moving to Texas, he has become somewhat of a foodie and loves being in the kitchen experimenting with his air fryers. He is always looking for his next rodeo to attend and eventually wants to learn how to ride a horse. Needless to say, he is now a Dallas Cowboys fan!
WFAA-TV is considered one of the best news teams in the country. The opportunity to work with the best photojournalists is an incredible honor for Scoop. The diversity of both on-air and behind-the-scenes staff, including management at WFAA, is unmatched in the TV business.
A fun fact, while working in Portland, Oregon, Scoop hired a voice coach before singing the Star-Spangled Banner at the Trailblazers game. That was his first and only public singing performance. It was a bucket list item for him! He also has a twin sister.
