Thank you for visiting our fundraising page! With the help of The Keegan Theatre, my daughter Laura and I are raising funds and awareness for Shatterproof, a national nonprofit organization committed to protecting our loved ones from addiction to prescription and illicit drugs and alcohol and ending the stigma and suffering of those affected by this disease.
Shatterproof is changing the conversation about addiction. They are saving lives by helping pass laws that prevent more of our loved ones from becoming addicted to prescription opioids and supporting first responders who can rescue those who overdose. Your support helps expand their efforts to support prevention, treatment, rescue and recovery of addiction.
On December 29, 2017, a benefit performance of An Irish Carol, written by Matthew J. Keenan, will be presented. The Keegan Theatre is donating half of the proceeds from ticket sales for this night to Shatterproof in memory of Steven.
Steven worked on the lighting for this production shortly before his death on December 12, 2016.
After the show - fireside music and refreshments!
Set in a modern Dublin pub, AN IRISH CAROL is an homage to Dickens’ classic – told as only the Irish can. The play, both comic and touching, follows one evening in the life of David, a wealthy pub owner who has lost touch with his own humanity in the interest of self-protection and material success. But on this Christmas Eve – challenged by a voice from the past, provoked by those in this present, and faced with the reality of a lonely future – David’s life may change forever. An original work by Keegan company member Matthew Keenan. Tickets can be purchased at keegantheatre.com for Dec. 29.
Please support our fundraiser by making a donation to Shatterproof today. Together, we are stronger than addiction.
