JoyRide Cycling + Fitness presents:

Together We Are Bigger Than Addiction: Cycle & Yoga to Raise Awareness

Join us on Sunday August 2 to celebrate the life of Brad Goldman, whose time was cut short after a courageous battle with addiction. Our goal is to raise awareness of this terrible disease, and help put an end to the stigma. We will offer a 2-hour OUTDOOR cycling class in our NEW Outdoor JOYTENT in Darien from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., featuring FAKE ID BAND. You can ride for one hour or both! The entrance for the JoyTent is the driveway between Helen Ainson and Cold Play Cryotherapy (1073-1082 Post Road, Darien). Parking is available adjacent to the tent.Following cycling, there will be a break for refreshments, and then a Yoga class (led by the awesome Heather Vernik) in the JoyRide courtyard from 12:30-1:30. Also, there will be a Zoom yoga class with the amazing Stef deSatnick from Stone Harbor Yoga on Saturday August 8 from 9:30-10:30 eastern. That class will also celebrate the life of Stef’s dad, Rich Mills, who passed away on July 23, 2019. Rich had cancer, not addiction, but his amazing life and legacy — so perfectly being honored by Stef every day — makes this collaboration super powerful. Registration for all activities will be first come first serve, so sign up today! (Each hour is a $50 registration fee.)

BRAD WAS AN AMAZING PERSON WHO HAD AN EVIL DISEASE. ADDICTION ROBS THE WORLD OF SO MANY SELFLESS, COURAGEOUS AND KIND YOUNG PEOPLE — JUST LIKE BRAD. THAT HAS TO STOP. NOW. TOGETHER WE ARE BIGGER THAN ADDICTION!

A Note from Brad’s sister, Sadie:
My name is Sadie. I recently lost my amazing big brother Brad due to addiction. It opened my eyes as to how powerful this illness is. I want to do everything in my power to help fight this illness. No one deserves to lose a loved one to something like addiction. I hope that learning how awful this disease is will make people realize just how powerful it is and that we need to fight it together. So many amazing people are taken by this illness, and none of them deserve it.
We’re raising funds and awareness for Shatterproof, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to reversing the addiction crisis in the United States. Shatterproof is changing the conversation about addiction — advocating for policy change, educating our communities, transforming addiction treatment, and shattering stigma. Your support helps expand their efforts to support addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery.
