In Loving Memory of Marc Kane

Support Me

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am raising funds and awareness in honor of my amazing brother, Marc.

Marc passed away on November 16, 2018, due to a heroin overdose. Marc battled with addiction and depression for many years after sustaining significant injuries in a car accident, where he was hit by a drunk driver in November 2010. He was always optimistic that he could win his battle on his own, but the hold that addiction has was much stronger than any of us could have ever imagined.

My mission now is to be an advocate for people and their families who need help in dealing with this terrible disease and to help end the stigma of addiction.

I became a Shatterproof Ambassador in January 2019 and began fundraising in Marc's memory in March 2019. I have held two events in Marc's honor: a one mile walk, Marc's Mile, which was held on May 5, 2019, and the Marc Kane Mortal Kombat Tournament, which was held on August 18, 2019. I had the honor of giving a speech at the Shatterproof Rise Up Against Addiction 5k in Los Angeles on November 9, 2019. By the time I gave that speech, I raised over $10,000 in Marc's memory in just 8 months, thanks to the generosity and kindness of amazing family and friends. I plan to do more events in Marc's honor, in an effort to share his story, raise awareness, and help end the stigma.

Shatterproof is changing the conversation about addiction. They are advocating for policy change, educating our communities, transforming addiction treatment, and shattering stigma. Your support helps expand their efforts to support prevention, treatment, and recovery of addiction.

Please consider making a donation in Marc's honor to this amazing organization.
