Someday is (4 months) away. (about 100 days now)
Hopefully you're reading this in anticipation of my newest adventure the "HOKA HEY".
Steve McQueen "The King of cool"  made an impression on me early.  I grew up riding the training wheels off my first bike.  The hard rubber tires were the next to fail when all of the spokes fell out. I hadn't even started with jumps and ramps yet.
I've always been an adrenaline junky I guess.  Along the way I have done some pretty neat stuff.
    Riding mtorcycles"
    Flying in a glider
    Piloting a plane
Jumping out of perfectly good airplanes
    Running with Bulls.
    Rock Climbing
Rappelling 26 stories from the Westin Hotel In Pittsburgh for addiction (see pic)
    Whitewater rafting and canoeing
    Riding motorcycles"
See a theme here?
I hope Steve McQueen would be proud.
The "Hoka Hey Challenge" is my newest adventure.  My birthday is August 3rd.  This August at age 71,  I plan to be at Teddy Morse Harley Davidson in Ormond Beach Florida for the start of the 10th Hoka Hey Challenge ride.
What is the Hoka Hey Challenge?
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge is a motorcycle endurance challenge. Entry is limited to riders of American-made V-twin-style motorcycles. It is named after a rallying call of the Sioux Indians and is designed to test the participants’ physical, mental and emotional boundaries.
The inaugural 2010 challenge took participants along a mandatory route on back roads across the United States and Canada. The route crossed numerous mountain ranges, 33 Indian reservations, 25 national forests, eight deserts and six national parks. Challenge routes travel secondary roads with directions revealed at a series of specific checkpoints. The event guidelines prohibit speeding and require contenders to sleep outside throughout the entire course.
The Challenge will be about 8 - 10,000 miles. My complete trip is self financed and should cover approximately 15,000 miles.  This includes my travel to the start in Florida and my return home from Alaska.  I'm thinking 70 or 80 tanks of gas @ 5 gallons each = 400 gallons of premium gas.  Hotels at start and finish asuming I make it to the finish.  Along the way I'll be sleeping outside as required and probably exist on gas station roller dogs and whatever will keep in my tank bag.  The event starts August 4th and the finish banquet is the 17th.
All of the participants are encouraged to fund raise on behalf of their chosen charity.  The 2020 event raised over $500,000 dollars.  I have chosen Shatterproof to support in my effort to complete this challenge.
Shatterproof is dedicated to providing people help with addiction.  I have known and lost more people than anyone should have to.  Last year alone there were 112,000 overdose deaths.  Addiction seems to affect everyone.  Almost everyone knows someone who struggles or has lost their battle.
I'm looking for sponsors! You up for a penny a mile? For 10,000 miles? $100.00?  If I can get you and 99 other friends I can raise $10,000. Honestly anything will be a help.  How about contributing a tank of 93 Premium gas? If it is only $5.00 I'll be more than happy to have you on board.  I need all of the help I can get!
