Shatterproof's LA Walk Emcee's Andy and Lana Slavitt

Andy Slavitt was President Biden's White House Senior Advisor for the COVID response. He is currently a member of a President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) working group on public health. He has led many of the nation's most important health care initiatives, serving as President Obama's head of Medicare and Medicaid and overseeing the turnaround, implementation and defense of the Affordable Care Act. Slavitt is the "outside's insider," serving in leading private and nonprofit roles in addition to his government services. He is founder and Board Chair Emeritus of United States of Care, a national nonprofit health advocacy organization as well as a founding partner of Town Hall Ventures, a healthcare firm that invests in underrepresented communities. He co-chaired a national initiative on the future of health care at the Bipartisan Policy Center. He chronicles what goes on inside the government and across the nation at town halls, in USA TODAY, on his award-winning podcast In the Bubble, and on Twitter. He is the author of Preventable, a best-selling account of the US's Coronavirus response released in 2021. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Business School, he and his wife have two grown sons.

Lana Slavitt spent more than 20 years working in strategy and corporate development business roles before focusing on grass roots activism, philanthropy, and government policy engagement. She previously held executive roles at McKinsey & Company, Universal Studios, Yahoo! and Target Corporation. Lana received a Bachelor's degree in Economics from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Northwestern University. She currently serves on the board of Friends in Deed, a nonprofit providing essential services and support to unhoused people in Pasadena, CA. After a 16-year absence from California while raising a family in Minnesota, she is thrilled to be living in Southern California again with her husband, Andy, and goldendoodle, Brodie.

Together we are Shatterproof

Together, we’ll honor those who lost their lives to this disease, celebrate those who are living in recovery and bring hope to the millions that are still suffering. Together, we can save lives. Together, we are Shatterproof.
